Scott’s notes on this week

Rates strengthened this week across several of the terms I track. The 3-, 5-, 7-, and 10-year highlighted options all moved higher, while the 2- and 4-year selections held steady. There are now several highly rated carrier options in the mid-5% range, and select 5-year products have reached 6%. As always, rate is only part of the decision — carrier strength, liquidity, withdrawal provisions, premium minimums, and guarantee period all matter.

How these rates are compiled

  • These rates are informational. They are not binding quotes or offers.
  • Rates and product availability change, sometimes within the same week, and carriers can withdraw products without notice.
  • Final eligibility, rate, and contract terms can only be confirmed through a carrier-approved quote and application.
  • Scott Stewart reviews each week's figures against carrier or distributor documentation before publication.

Common questions

How often are these Oklahoma MYGA rates updated?
The list is reviewed and updated weekly. Each week is published as its own dated page so you can see how rates have moved over time.
Are MYGA rates guaranteed for the full term?
Yes. With a multi-year guaranteed annuity the stated interest rate is guaranteed by the issuing insurance company for the entire term you select. Guarantees are backed solely by the claims-paying ability of that carrier.
Can I withdraw money before the term ends?
Most contracts allow a limited penalty-free withdrawal each year, commonly the interest earned or a set percentage of the account value. Withdrawals beyond that amount are generally subject to surrender charges, and withdrawals before age 59 and a half may carry a tax penalty.

Important disclosures

Rates shown are current as of the week indicated and are subject to change without notice. Product and rate availability varies by state and by carrier, and may be withdrawn at any time. Guarantees are backed solely by the financial strength and claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance company. Annuities are not bank deposits, are not FDIC insured, and are not guaranteed by any federal government agency. Withdrawals in excess of the contract's penalty-free amount may be subject to surrender charges and market value adjustments, and withdrawals before age 59 and a half may be subject to an additional 10 percent federal tax penalty.
